This webinar will address cultural awareness and competency with regard to diagnosing and treating children with Down syndrome and ASD. Components to support culturally appropriate intervention include the following: 1) understand, respect, and appreciate cultural diversity; 2) provide culturally relevant treatment; 3) use family strengths in helping the utilization of effective strategies for parenting Down syndrome/autism within the home and community settings. The webinar will provide strategies and resources to increase cultural competence when supporting families and children towards positive development and relationships.

This webinar will be recorded. If you register, but cannot attend during the live broadcast, you will receive an email the following day with a link to watch online. The webinar will then be posted on www.dsamn.org/conferences/workshops at a later date.

Presented by Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota in partnership with Down Syndrome Affiliates in Action through a grant from Dakota County.

I continue to be impressed with the depth of the board/professional workshops offered.
