Eventbrite - Reconnect: Relationship Tools for Parents of Children with Special Needs

Our session will focus on the current issues that come with the start of school, and then we continue to see them create struggles and lack of success for kids as the year progresses. How many of you dread that first phone call of the school year? What will they say? Will they be asking parents to come and get their kids? Will they tell me that teachers need supports for the students arriving to their classrooms? We will discuss these common school issues and talk about how we create successful learning opportunities for our children by asking the right kinds of questions, planning for positive behavior supports. We will also be very realistic about the use of visual tools, assistive technology and natural supports – typical peers who have a wealth of information and resources to share with us. Success is not so far from our reach when we work together and know the steps to take.
