Down syndrome and autism can be challenging disabilities. When combined, the challenges can be quite complex and oftentimes are misunderstood by family members and professionals.

Do you know of families who have a child with Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder within your community?  Are you looking for a way to connect them with other families and provide information on the co-occurring diagnosis to them?

The Down Syndrome-Autism Connection DS-ASD 101 presentation will be valuable training for your leaders. The information provided through this presentation will help assure families that they are not alone on this complex journey.  The webinar presentation looks at what we know about DS-ASD, discusses commonalities in family experiences, explores basic behavioral red flags, reviews treatment recommendations, resources available and emphasizes the importance of building a support network and care team through the lifespan.

Want to view the webinar but can't make it during the live presentation? Be sure and register to receive a link to view the recording for up to 14 days. (Most webinars are placed in STACKS - the DSAIA Member Resource Library - within 6 months.)

I continue to be impressed with the depth of the board/professional workshops offered.
