About your presenter:

I got my start advocating for people with Down syndrome when my daughter Kelly was born. At the time we lived in Indiana and I was very impressed by all that I learned working with Down Syndrome Indiana. There I launched the first of 10 parties called "Kelly's Upside Down Ball." I did five in Indiana and have run five in Wisconsin, where we moved in 2005. For several years, I ran the event in both states. Kelly's Upside Down Ball raises money to assist individuals with Down syndrome, who are diagnosed with cancer. The event is named after my daughter who is a leukemia survivor. I am passionate about helping families faced by this additional diagnosis.

Since moving to Wisconsin, I have served on the board of The Lake Country Women's Club and the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin. I am founder and president of Wisconsin Upside Down, as well as a National Down Syndrome Society Ambassador. I serve as a board member of Down Syndrome Affiliates in Action and am excited to once again serve as the chairperson for the DSAIA Leadership Conference.

Before working as an advocate in the Down syndrome community, I had a career in the television and entertainment industries. Ask me about dancing with the Smurfs! I am the mother of three children and have been married for 20 years to my husband, Dana.

I continue to be impressed with the depth of the board/professional workshops offered.
